About Us
We are a mother and daughter business partnership.
Sophie (daughter) – I graduated from Loughborough University in 2013, having studied Visual Communications. When we began, I was leaving university, searching for a job and getting to grips with adult life in London… 6 years on, I have made some progress working in the creative world as a designer and then setting up a business – enter HelloGrads!
Julie (Sophie’s Mum) – I also graduated from Loughborough (but centuries ago!) I have business experience in buying and marketing, and other useful insights as a mum of 3. I have recently helped both my daughters and several friends set themselves up after uni.
Why HelloGrads?
Leaving education involves new challenges and life skills. We know that this sort of knowledge is not generally covered at school or university, as much as it needs to be. There’s a lot of information out there, but plenty of clutter and it’s often difficult to distinguish between independent advice and a sales pitch. As a result, people tend to rely on family or friends for guidance … So, HelloGrads was born!
